Build Skills for Successful Employment by Earning a
Certificate of Employability (CoE)

So you want a job? What makes you different from all the other young adults who are also interested in finding employment? Employers face a steady flow of young adults who seek part-time or full-time employment. How do they choose just the right person to fill their needs?
In national and local surveys, employers have told us over and over again that they want new employees who will be good employees. They want employees who will be customer-oriented, who are willing to be trained (Yes, employers have expectations, even for the most basic jobs!), and who follow the basic rules of being a good employee. How can you learn what these basic rules are? And, how can you let an employer know that you possess the skills they want? Get a CoE!
Earning a CoE gains you a certificate, card and cover letter that you can show to an employer when you apply for a job. These credentials show the employer that you have learned and demonstrated the good skills that they are looking for when they search for a new employee. Many Schenectady County Employers have agreed to give special consideration to those who possess the CoE.
